so, while I was walking the dog, I decided to go to the mini forest at the end of the street, and (though it was someone else's property), found a bridge over the mini stream. I had no idea there was a bridge. There lay a dirt path, forking into two, where it looks like many have walked its trail before. One led to a bed of leaves, so deep that I thought I was gonna find a body, or have a hand grab my ankle, so I went back and took the other path. This path was harder to walk because of all the branches and shrubs and roots and sticks, but that only increased my anticipation. As I saw the ground progressively rise to a beacon of light, I, and my dog (panting (the dog, not me)), shot up out of the leaves, and found the field that I thought used to be farmland, half mowed, half taken over by the brush and harsh pointy spiked flowers. Since I was wearing shorts, I really got a lot of scratches. At times, I thought I lost my dog for a second. I felt like I was in a fairytale haha...the sun was beautiful.
when I emerged out of the forest, creeping back across my neighbor's humongo lawn, and back onto civilization, I thought I was in some sort of story where, i'm like...5 or 10 years in the future, or the past, and as I would walk back home, find little things that were different than when I passed it the first time.
The church bells rang and it was just a glorious feeling...
SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE AND I CAN'T BELIEVE IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO FIND THAT BRIDGE!
